Is it safe for my baby?

As moms all we want is what's best for our babies, but how much do we really know about the safety of such product that we use for our baby? as a mother knowledge is our base that we can do to protect our little one, just as much how we take good care our body when we were growing that little peanut inside our womb. According to EWG conducted survey that children everyday have been expose to an average of 27 personal care product ingredients that have been not found safe for developing bodies. And 77 percent of the ingredients in 1,700 children's products have not been assessed for safety (imagine that!). By using fewer personal care products for our children, Parents can make healthy choices by simply educating our self in picking the right product and ignoring ad hype and following these tips.

Baby Wipes
 Avoid ( 2- bro-mo-2-nitro propane- 1,3-diol ( or Bronopol), DMDM hydantoin, Fragrance)

Diaper Cream
 Avoid ( BHA, boric acid, sodium borate, fragrance)

Sunscreen infants under 6 months don't belong in the sun and they shouldn't wear sunscreen. For older babies and children use protective clothing and sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB.

Toothpaste- Use a little amount of fluoride free toothpaste for children under 2.

Baby powder- I admit I am guilty on this one, but after knowing it I stop using this one. This need to skip from using, just like auto exhaust and secondhand smoke the tiny airborne particles can damage baby's delicate and developing lungs.

Halloween: safety first

Halloween is just around the corner, It's a fun times for children to dress up in costumes and go trick or treating. From so many cute little costumes to choose from, here in trendy mommy safety and comfort-ability is the first priority. In some places it is starting to get chilly by Halloween, if you plan to go trick or treating along with some other kids in your area be sure that your little pumpkin is dress up warmly. Make sure he is really warm enough  so he don't get sick, a long legs, sleeves and hat can help to keep your little pumpkin warm. If planning an indoor party make sure the baby's costume is air breathable and doesn't get overly warm on your baby. If looking for deals on costumes, consignment shops have costumes that other baby's outgrown and have just used it once, you can always score a deal on that. hey, baby's don't used it but once so shopping at any thrifty store or at consignment shops are always smart. Remove any patches, strings, buttons that baby can get choke. And make sure that he can walk or crawl in his costume, choose a non-itchy and made of flame resistant-material . happy trick or treating!

Trendy Mommy shopping tips

Being Trendy doesn't mean breaking your bank account. Here are the simple tips that surely save you tons. When you go shopping buy simple pieces, they are the ones that don't go out of trends, from my perspective a good pair of jeans are the ones that are always in, pair it with classic cute white tee. Accessories are always nice tweaks to finish the look, a cool bracelet, necklace or belts are the basics, sometimes basic look are always the stylish. Looking good is feeling good and it doesn't mean buying what's in style, choose flattering pieces than a brand that doesn't look good on you. But before going shopping at your favorite store look for coupons and special deals either in newspaper or online. Don't be afraid of shopping at thrifty store or at consignment shops you might be surprise on what bargains you will find. Shop at the end of the season. (we always do this, I recently bought a pair of leopard pajama for almost for free now, that's trendy! :-) ) Happy shopping!
